VVT Ecotecs have 2 actuator solenoids on top of the valve cover. Front end of the engine. If your's does not have these, then it's not a VVT engine. Also, I think when they changed to the VVT 2.2, it was then Flex Fuel capable. Doe's your have a Flex Fuel emblem on the rear hatch ?

Easiest way to tell is the large VVT on the valve cover. All 2.5L and 2.0L are VVT 2009-onward 2.2L is VVT. 2008 2.2L is NON-VVT.

The eighth digit of the VIN is engine type. Also by RPO CODE LE5=2.4L, L61=2.2L (non-VVT),

thanks, both of you.
I looked and indeed, I do not have a VVT engine, also verified through VIN.

Then you’ll want the Colyes kit 9-4201S that one comes with cam fears and the cam bolts.

sssooo, perhaps I should have asked this already (see post #20 of this thread...) but Im seeing 2 styles of waterpumps available.
one that is chain driven and one that appears belt driven.
the one I ordered was the recommended pump, which looks to be belt driven.
my panel is a 2008 non-VVT 2.2l engine. am I ok with what looks to be a belt driven WP ?

The above AC Delco WP has the chain sprocket included

There isn’t a belt driven WP,

most come without the balance shaft chain sprocket. Like the one below

Balance shaft kits don’t usually , I haven’t seen that sprocket worn enough to warrant changing the sprocket. If you leave the front cover on you cannot change it.
