Tinny Rattle.
I am getting a tinny rattle when I'm lightly accelerating. It is more prevalent when am starting off. I'm not getting a loss of power or any engine codes.
Would could this be? TIA. -Julian |
On a 2007 HHR, it can be the exhaust pipe, the heat shields like to rattle.
It could be the air cleaner box bracket. |
You called it. It was the exhaust flex pipe. $1100 to replace. The catalytic converter needed to be replaced as well.
Thank you. -JJ |
Wow, five fasteners and the O2 sensors , but it’s fixed now.
Is there a reason why the shop won’t put on an aftermarket catalytic converter. Perhaps in your state it has to be an OEM part? on EBay they go for under $300.00 |
Wow, that's steep! $240 for a new ZZP downpipe, 5 nuts/bolts. 1 o2 sensor.
|
It all fixed now, let’s not pick at the scab , I’m sure it still hurts
|
They also had to replace the exhaust manifold. The price included replacing the drivers door opening mechanism, which has failed again. A lady saw me reaching out to open the driver's door, she pointed out she replaced her three times, before giving up. I'm not going to replace it again. Also, I had to order a driver's side sun visor. I got that one off eBay. :)
Oh, and the sunroof opening mechanism has failed, again. Oh well... I still like the car. -JJ |
The inside door handle is less than $10 for a new METAL one. A very simple DIY job. And don't use it as a handle to pull the door closed or let it snap.
