Tracking oil leak

2006 2.4L ~50K miles...I'm trying to track down a new oil leak. Bottom of trans pan is covered in oil. Engine oil pan and drain plug are clean and dry.

Has anyone else had this? maybe a TSB or something.

I saw the TSB on the 2.2L oil galley plugs leaking. I'm hoping this one is not a rear main seal.

I had a oil seal go bad on the half shaft at the transmission. It threw a bunch of oil around at the trans.

sorry i can't help you

i changed my oil yesterday also . 08 2.4 . i also noticed what looked like something leaking around the driveshaft housing. could you tell if it was oil for sure? or maybe trans fluid. since the trans is sealed i don't know how to check it or what the trans fluid looks like. i'm guessing , yours and mine may be the same problem the other person listed here-driveshaft seal. i hope not a didn't spend so much $ on my hhr to have to work on it. the reason i got it was because i have too many projects and don't need anouther. is the driveshaft seal covered under the powertrain warrantee?

The driveshaft seal is covered under the powertrain warranty. I could tell it was the drive shaft due to the oil radiating out from the seal area. since it was throwing the oil I could not determine the color but I am sure it was tranny fluid. You should be a look in through the wheel well and clearly see the seal area
