Traction Control
 

Have a problem where my Traction control light is coming on only after the car is warm. If I drive to one place, shut it down, let it cool then drive back it does not come on. But if I drive it somewhere, shut it off and then turn it back on, put it in gear, the traction light comes on. I am getting a P0010
diagnostic code after the light is on for awhile. Sometimes it throws the code, some times it does not.

But the P0010 indicates that the INTAKE Camshaft Postition Actuator Solenoid needs replacing - note it is the SOLENOID!!! (Not a "Sensor").

Yea, I did a search and found the thread before I did the post. I am picking up the parts at Lunch today and will replace them tonight when I get home. Hopefully that will fix this issue. I replaced the MAP Sensor first thinking that was the problem as it was throwing a different code. Waste of $80. I am just hoping these 2 $50 parts do the trick. Would hate to have to take it to the shop after putting this much effort in to it.. lol Guess that happens. I will report back if this fixes the problem.

Thanks, I changed the solenoids and that did the trick! I also decided to change the plugs at the same time as I have 104K on the car now. I was amazed that the plugs looked almost brand new. Crazy!

Cool - glad it worked out for you. Re: plugs - yeah, the new tipped plugs sure do last compared to a few years ago.

(Solenoids............ solenoids......... solenoids............. solenoids).

Whopper, I am wondering, since the code was for just the intake, should I have saved the other $52 and just replaced the one? Just seemed to me that if I replaced one I should do both.

Either way - my preference was to replace them both (why not - the parts aren't that pricey), and it's easier to do the job once and replace them both at the same time. But that is just my opinion.

And I got to put the used good one on the shelf as a spare part. Of course I won't be able to find it if/when I ever need it. :(

If you have a front wiper blade that is totally worn out, would you just place it, or replace them both? Same question - and the answer has to come from yourself, not me. :)

I had the same problem and I put in a new upstream O2 sensor and it stopped coming on.
