tranny problem

Got the code p0700 and p0741 tcc stuck off had my mechanic check it out couldnt find anything wrong with the sensors they cleared code drove home lite i
back on tranny wont shift to overdrive. Car has about 115 thousand miles on it tranny hass never been serviced. Should I change the filter and fluid and see if that would help any?

Would like to try to help but I'm having a little trouble trying to understand your post. Could you do a rewrite maybe? Also include the year and engine(your signature is obviously wrong on these)

With that many miles it's definitely past due for a transmission job, however this may not be the source of your problem. I haven't had enough experience with these ecotec powertrains to provide a definitive answer. Normally lack of maintenance can be felt in shift quality, shift speed, etc. More indicative of your problem is Likely a sensor or solenoid. with modern cars the electrical systems for the whole drive train are so tied in it's not always an easy find. Check your fuses and relays also they are labeled under the lid, search for any related to tcm, ecm, tcs, etc.

His sign says 07 2.0 auto.....i'm guessing he means 2.2 since the ss wasn't offered in 07 was it ?

mister hhr 08-08-2012 08:03 PM

Yes it is titled as a 2008 but was manufactured in early 07 it is the 2.2 ecotech.

Try doing a forum search for transmission issues I've actually seen a couple of topics just the last day or two related to this. Also search by your code that it gave you. reach out to Michelle here I think it's Chevroletcustomerservice, hope you get it resolved soon :-)

The tranny shifts 2/3 fine just no o/d I am thinking like stated above it most likley electrical issue of some sort. My mechanic checked the sensors and the fluid level no problems with either.

P0741 is the TCC not coming on. The TCC solenoid is inside the trans pan.
Was your mechanic able to tell the TCC solenoid to come on and did it. The P0700 is a slip code. A trans shop with a scanner can road test and shift the trans. with the scanner. Then can say if elec. or hard parts.

They did not as far as I know they were not able to get it to shift with there scan tool. I think my best bet is to take it the transmisson shop and have them change fluid and check the tranny further. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
