Ah really....
Don't you think GM would have indicated a necessary reset, of some sort, in the owners book. Especially in the section regarding changing a flat tire....or the area regarding tire rotation.
I mean, geez, they tell you to reset the oil indicator, after an oil change.!!!!
You know, if you have the time, this is really something that needs to be discussed with DEALERSHIP MANAGEMENT in person. You are a person that highly regards your vehicle and you return to the "authorized and knowledgable" source for your service and repairs. To be told a fabrication, or at least...told about a requirement not necessary on your vehicle, is not acceptable. The service writer should have know better and/or needs more training.
I mean...you could go to Jiffy Lube, for that kind of "quality" service.
Who knows...they may give you a couple of free oil changes for your trouble, if presented properly.

I got two years of free oil changes and tire rotations because of the problems I had getting the radio reprogrammed to get rid of the popping/feedback noise. I don't think I could handle any more freebies if this is the kind of BS I'll have to put up with. I do all of the service on my Y2K Ford diesel pickup and my wife's '97 Z28. The only reason the dealer got my HHR for the oil change and tire rotation was because it was free. I guess the old addage is true, you get what you pay for.

Dennis....
I hear ya.
So, if I understand you correctly....you MAY NOT go back to this dealer for the oil changes and tire rotations?????
Dealer management should be informed why you are not returning and a "well worded, carefully thought" letter should be addressed to Chevrolet Customer Service...copy to Chevrolet Sales/Marketing.
Obviously, you can tell I'm on a "war path" with GM dealers. I'm a retired salaried employee from GM. My thoughts of most of the Dealers is about as low as whale s**t. IMO

Snoopy,
Financially, it would not make much sense to throw away two years of free service. Chevy Customer Service has my complaint on file, and I have a case number I'll provide to the local Service Manager the next time I'm there for an oil change/tire rotation. However, once the freebies are over, I'll assume responsibility for maintenance.
My neighbor is a service writter for a Mazda dealership which is owned by the same company which owns this Chevy dealership. She knows the company president personally and has offered to forward my complaint. I like the idea of a "well worded, carefully thought" letter. The letter sent to GM may not accomplish much, but provided to the local dealership owner may garner more attention. It would also indicate that I'm not as much upset with GM but rather with the problems I encountered with his dealership.
