Cruise control went out again.

Seems to go out whenever I mess with the head unit.

Last time it stopped working was due to the scosche factory harness converter thing.

took it out, then cruise worked.

this time I have cut some wired from stock head unit harnesses, but for some reason, it worked like this. I actually hooked up MORE wires from harness to car wiring and now it doesn't work.

Does anyone know the wires on the head unit that would affect the cruise control?

It's literally the only thing I messed with.

Here are the colors for the wiring for my radio

Before suspecting the wiring, have a helper/lovely assistant step on the brake pedal with the ignition on.

A burned out bulb in the center stop light will prevent cruise control engagement, if all the lights work, then it's time to suspect that a wiring change may be "upsetting" the BCM enough to knock out the cruise control.

And Fwiw. The brake lights(3rd light) must be illuminated at least once after the car is started to activate the cruise control circuit.

How did I find this out? It was a 5 speed thing. Not stepping on the brakes at startup, then trying to engage the cruise on the highway. Lots of cussing involved until I figured it out.

Another weird fix ... (I Think)

My increase and decrease speed feature just stopped working on my 2011 2LT a few weeks ago. Then is started up again and then quit again etc etc.

I took it the GM Dealer here and the Tech came out to the car .. checked a couple things and told me he wasn't going to do anything that day to fix it.
He asked me to continue driving it and when it acts up again to turn on the radio and increase the volume slighly with the steering wheel volume control.
Then try the up down function again.
It wasn't long before it stopped working so I followed his instructions and turned OFF the speed control and the turned it back ON and then actived the speed at 55mph.
Bottom line is I have not had a problem since ?????

Geez ... This is like hitting the Start button on your computer to Turn it OFF.
