when need to replace the seal Output Shaft Seal - GM
Hi I change the axle shaft for my HHR 2006 manual shift 2.4, but I not need to replace the Output Shaft Seal also? when I came off the axle shaft passenger side I saw a little drop of transmission fluid from the filter or if is normal when takingoff the axle shaft, so I don't know if replacement now or not, here is the picture I took it. any opinion , I called the dealer and they give the number 97029260 but that is for both parts of the transmission Left and Right?, thanks in advance
Was it leaking before you removed the shaft? Some fluid coming out when removing the shaft is normal.
BTW We always replace the seal when ever replacing the shaft.
no no never leak, but so is a good idea to replace the seal for both sides? yes I remove the shaft on both side driver and passenger, this refer to the passenger side
Thanks
Yes, I took off the passenger side, and I will replace the AcDelco Gold 3543 Crankshaft Front Oil Seal and fit it, but I don't know if the driver's side is the same AcDelco Gold 3543 or a different size. my car is HHR 2006 2.4 Litte Manual 5 speed.
