'07 HHR Panel LT1 2.4 water pump replacement
I have an '07 2.4 with approx. 40K. I'll be replacing the hoses this spring (more an age issue than anything else) flushing the cooling system, having the tranny fluid done and I was wondering if I should think about the water pump too. Also, when replacing the water pump do I need the "sprocket tool"
on the 2.4? In AutoZone's repair step by step site they mention the sprocket tool for the 2.2 but not the 2.4. Did they change the 2.4 that much? Plus, maybe some ideas on the best disc pads to get for normal street/highway use (maybe NAPA's best). I'm planning a N.W.(Wa.) to Fla. to SW (San Diago vacation this summer and don't want to get stranded anywhere (if I can help it). I'd be better off selling it than paying to fix it somewhere in the middle of Tx. Any and all info. is much appreciated. Thanks in advance to you all for taking the time to respond.
