Wipers ??
Tonight in a light rain/snow, my drivers side wiper arm decided to take a vacation. Pass side worked but the drivers side was against the A pillar. half way home, I pulled into the only place that was open and took a look... The arm that goes between the wipers was laying on the bottom of the cowl, no longer attached to the drivers side pivot. Of course no tools and at 11:30 PM, I couldn't do much without causing further damage, so I limped home the last 23 miles hoping I didn't come across anything going in the opposite direction. Made it home and once it gets light out, I will investigate.
First I have had trouble with them and they weren't frozen down when I turned them on so maybe the plastic bearing is shot?? We will see.

just have a set of wrenches and sockets and a couple of screwdrivers in the c0ckpit for future reference
if you list what I have in the car besides this ...
a shovel, an ax, a pair of old jackets and sheepskin coat, start wires, WD40, a set of spare spark plugs, a couple of liters of engine oil, a piece of chain-link mesh, a liter of ethyl alcohol, a five-liter bottle water, a fire extinguisher and this is not a complete list.
All this once helped me in emergency situations.

All my 'on the road repair tools' are in the Land Rover, where believe it or not, they get used a lot (when I drive it) kind of hoping this thing would be a bit more reliable. Not gonna have time to work on this linkage until 3 days from now. That work thing gets in the way. Maybe time to move the tools....
When the wiper transmission broke in Oldblue, I replaced the complete transmission assembly, still have the old one in the shed, I’m a collector, packrat, I think I can use it later, never happens!
ordered a complete assembly off amazon. should be here in a few days so I guess I gotta drive the Patriot. Doors are too small and my HHR gets better MPG. The Patriot does have tools in it since it is the Kid's.
I have lots of "I'll have it when I need another" parts and the wife wants to toss it all. until something breaks...

I just fixed a friends HHR.If you got the transmission from Amazon you probably paid too much.Cheapest I could find it was Rock Auto.OEM part for 59.99 minus our 5% discount.Just an FYI for anyone else who stumbles onto this thread.

I get free shipping from amazon, I have found with Rockauto that shipping can drive the cost up and be the same as amazon, plus some of the core charges or return costs can be spendy too.
RainX does a great job! been using it for years
Just checked , Rockauto with shipping is $87, Amazon with 2 day delivery is $89.
