1/8 to 1/4 mile contest
1 Attachment(s)
Below is a picture of my 1/8 mile time slip. This pass happened on Sept 6th in Gleenwood, IA @ MAM around 8PM. I am goin to KRPI in Kearney, NE to run their 1/4 mile drag strip. I'll be making passes around 3-6 PM tomorrow (Saturday Sept 27th). Based on my 1/8 mile Time slip, what ET and MPH do you think I will finish at? My car is unchanged since my last 1/8 mile pass. Same power, same mods. If you can guess my best ET & MPH correctly (ET to the 1/10 of a second and the correct MPH) Ill send you some free stickers. For example: if I run a 15.82 @ 90.65, and you guessed 15.8 @ 90 MPH, you win the stickers! For the heck of it, let's see your best guess. GO!!

Hmm…. just looking at some old time slips...
13.5s @ 106 |
So far, none of you guys are correct. Let's just say i was very pleased with my time and MPH considering I was only able to run 3 passes as there was a lot of class racing happening and Test N tune was barely squeezed into the event. I've changed the rules in my first post to reflect how you should submit your guess in your post. All you need to have correct is ET (to the tenth) and MPH. Example: 15.5 @ 91 MPH. Submit as many guesses as you would like. Someone is getting some stickers!
HINT: throw your 1/8 to 1/4 mile calculators in the garbage  |
13.4
107 Really wish I knew what tires you're using for these runs. Based on the 60' time, I'm guessing it wasn't slicks. |
Ok...:gnonespet:
I forgot that your a stick...:steering:, not an automatic... 13.85 @ 106 |

109 If so, I'm really impressed. You seem to have it running well and apparently dialed in. Also impressed you're doing it with the SS's 5 speed. |
LawDog88 should be disqualified for that "no faith" 1st guess he made. :roflol:

Here's a 13.13 pass on street tires & E47, 4 years ago...:twothumbs:
So if you got any traction, I say you too did a 13.13 ...:corny: My MPH that day was all over the place, from 104 to 110, depending on traction… My MPH guess, if you got 13.1s, would be 109... PS: You must be good with the 5sp...:steering: |

Attachment 23174 One of the coolest thing about this run is that it was against a brand spankin new 2014 Subaru STI limited edition. It was a BEATUIFUL car but was no match for the HHR. Thanks for playin along guys. This just goes to show 1/8 to 1/4 mile calculators can be VERY inaccurate. One of my runs was a 13.5 @ 109 with a 2.3 60ft and even that time proves 1/8 to 1/4 mile calculator to be off by a lot. |
Corn Wiskey is wonderful...:corny:
Good job with the 5sp, & street tires, & 400' lbs of torque…:twothumbs: I figured you going up in smoke...:skull1: |

Track prep was great. I've never been to a track that sticky. I have no doubt I will beat your street tire time :D
With only 3 runs, I wasn't able to figure out the best way to launch on that sticky of a track, better times to come... I tryed to break into the 12's that day, at the end of 2010, with street tires, & got a best of 13.08, by lowering tire pressures all day, & doing beautiful smokey burnouts. 15lbs of tire pressure, got me the 13.08, & killed the MPH, from 110 down to 104. In 2011, I got a set of Mikey Thompson street drag tires, which resulted in a best of 12.86. They sucked, traction was hit or miss, so I decided to get slicks, for the start of the 2012 season, resulting in a 12.77 1st pass down the track, with my best run that 1st day with slicks, 12.69 @ 110.7 MPH |
XtremeSS, thanks for the Stickers Bud! Now I am going to have to get a Drop-In K&N Filter/Assy, and some TTR Parts!
