60' Times

Was at the track again last night. Car was running great but my 60' is still high as hell (2.33). Anyone have any tips for keeping it down aside from me going back to my drag radials?

Best I've done was a 2.06, just babying the launch.

Manual, get out of first as quick as you can. Short shift. I think you lose torque in first,
Look up jasons cobalt I40 dragway on YouTube. He short shifts first out of the hole, and you can see the power pour on in second.

Track prep is everything...just my 2 cents. The best I did all summer was 2.38 which gave me a 9.56 (1/8th) If the track was better prepped (or go a on a test and tune night instead of cruise night) I would be in the 9.2 second range..

Also lowering your front tire PSI will help you hook...I lowered my to 20PSI and that was my best 60' time

Best 60 feet on steet tire (michelin oe) 2.3 sec.Best with semi slick:2.0 sec.A big difference but i prefer stay on steet, the sticky tire are harder on the powertrain.(in my case)
