Hey gents. I've been struggling with engine problems these past couple years. Keep fracturing the ring lands. The goal was to hit mid 11s on a stock engine but since I use my car as a test mule for my transmission builds, it get driven and raced as hard as possible. I've hit several 12.0 1/4 mile runs and the stock head setup just can't breathe well enough to crank timing an boost. One of my most proud runs was a 12.04 @ 109 just because I didn't need a super fast trap to lay it down. I've tried several variations of shift points and boost ramps. The 24.5 M&H slick tires just can do much else than mid-high 1.7s 60s on my chassis setup sitting at 3400lb raceweight. This year, I am have a high-comp 2.1 L engine built by John Walters and fully ported Zzp head /cams and fuel pump. Should exceed 500hp and pairing all that power to 26x8.5x15 slicks this year shall put down some real impressive numbers compared to previous years. I will update when it happens.

Yes, thank you for the update. With regards to the fractured ring lands, are you using factory pistons or forged?

Just factory. In the process of building the engine with custom forged wiseco pistons

Factory pistons are notorious for trashing the ring lands when the boost goes up. Replace the pistons with forged and the factory rods will be the next to go.
I've be doing a motor myself. Motor I got was run very little, still had the paint marks on the rings. I went with Carrillo rods and Wiseco pistons. Block and head assy is done, motors in a bag. I've got a number of other things that I need to get done before I jump into that.

What kind of transmission builds do you do?

Im most likely gonna be going with the Carrillo a-beam rods as well. The weight savings over other rods is just too much to ignore, not to mention the Carillo durability factor.

Ive been doing all kinds of f35 builds ranging from 550tq capable stock gearset builds (~5k$)all the way to 1000hp capable Quaife 6sp gearset conversion builds(6-9k$) all utilizing my girdled bellhousings, crush sleeve delete, and 3rd gear alignment mods. Also super finishing (isotropic polishing) and wpc treatment of gears and bearings adds to its capacity spec. I also do some basic F40 builds with diff swap only because parts are not available for f40 so all i can do is diff swap, bearing swap, upgrade fasteners, and change to a more aggressive preload.

Transmission Builds sound interesting. I need to add a Quaife to mine when I replace the engine. The single legger is very hard on the left axle/outer CV Joint. My left axle needs to be replaced now. I'm getting a vibration when accelerating at freeway speeds.

How are you adding the additional fuel with your setup, running a fifth injector? That is my intention with my setup. Two benefits, added fuel and washing of the intake valves, although I will be adding catch cans as well.
