HHR vs Stang
HHR vs Stang
And I have created a monster. Ever since my daughter saw the movie Cars, she has decided that when we are driving we ALWAYS have to be first. On the way home from my parents' tonight we pulled up to a stop sign and a Mustang turned and was in front of us. My little one started with, "Mommy, you have to catch them!" So, not wanting to disappoint my little girl, I dropped it into I and stepped on it. Tires barked and I took of. I caught the car and passed him. The whole time she is cracking up laughing. We came up to another stop sign, and the mustang was next to me. He revved the engine, we made eye contact and and nodded at each other (little one in the background laughing yelling do it again mommy!!). After the cross traffic went, we took off, I barely beat him. His nose was at my rear quarter panel. I was just hitting 70 when he backed down so I did. At the next stop sign he rolled down the passenger window and asked, "what do you have in that thing?" He didn't believe me when I told him it was a stock 2.4. I offered to go again, just for fun. He shook his head and turned left. I went straight and my little one was still laughing and begging me to go faster again. She is mommy's little girl. The stang was only a 6-cylinder, but still. I can say my HHR beat a stang!!
Geeeez, what is wrong with people now days?
Talk about "child endangerment"...........Do you realize what YOU could have caused to happen to your child doing stupid crap like that on the public streets!
You should be absolutely ashamed of yourself!

Oh stop whinning! If more people spent quality time with their kids like her, the prisons would not be so full.
Perhaps I should have clarified a bit. I'm not talking down town city driving. The area where I live is more rural than anything. The speed limit on the roads around me are 55-65mph. Flat roads, you can see for miles. It was a 4 lane road with a median. Neither of us were driving on the wrong side of the road. It's not like I was seeing how fast the car would go and bragging about doing 100+ mph with my kid in the car. I went to slightly above the speed limit, just a little bit quicker than I normally would, kind of like getting on the expressway. As saltyfishguy can probably tell you, down here you have to pretty much floor it on the on ramp so you don't get run over. I'm sorry if you feel that I was being irresponsible or endangering my child. I didn't post with the intention to start any arguments or anything like that.
