BigJack,

Thanks for all your track info.

"Bonnie" posted its best times and speed tonight. I managed to really smoke the tires on my second run and posted:

Again Eagle GT's Z rated Street Tires posted best time so far (thats all I got)

8.844 @ 86.476
60' = 2.189

and another solid run for my best posted speed

8.91 @ 87.088
60' = 2.237

I ran between 8.9 and 9.2 all night tonight
and still working on launching. My 60' were all over the place 2.1-2.5. 2.1 seems to be all I can get out of them.
Best reaction time tonight was a . 227 with an overall average from 7 runs as .41

I'll post the slips in the morning.

congrats
one 1/8 to 1/4 mile calculator I looked at showed
Your 1/4 Mile ET is 13.84 seconds computed from your vehicle 1/8th ET of 8.844 seconds.
Your 1/4 Mile MPH is 107.23 MPH computed from your vehicle 1/8th MPH of 86.476 MPH.
I am guessing your et may be better than that in the quarter since these cars run better once moving

Well after practicing this week and trying to find some guidance, it appears that when racing the 5 speed, you have to really get the timing down when letting out the clutch off the line. So say to simply dump the clutch, I can tell you this doesn't work, but after some runs this week, you have to learn the feel of letting the clutch out quickly but without dumping it. More of us with manul trans need to discuss this and compare notes. Anyone else out there racing a manual.

It was another great night at the track... for me anyway. I stayed at the 8.9-9.1 range tonight(shoulda took the seats out. lol) Nothing special tonight, last week might have been the peak for speed and time.

I do feel pretty bad for my buddy Jason. He brought his 'balt with him tonight.(all week I begged him to bring his bike instead) During our fifth run tonight he snapped his driver's side drive shaft right at the hub end of the boot, and shot grease all over the water box area. he was in the far lane, and I heard a quick pop followed by a high rev, and major rattle. He said he got real bad wheel hop, and as soon as it started hopping, he quickly let off the gas, tire grabbed, and snap! We were running head to head tonight, hard, and he was keeping up pretty well (his 'balt is the SC, with pulleys, pipes, WCIC, etc) I was on tonight, beat several V8's and Jason's 'balt. He was really trying to warm up his Kumo's on that last run. Eventhough it is a crappy thing, everybody at the track were extreamly helpfull in locating a drive shaft at 9pm at night, arranging for a free tow, loaning a jack, impact wrench, and they even stayed open a little later to wait for the tow truck.I love my local track, and I can't wait to go back next week

I'll post pics and slips in the morning. I got a good one of the 'balt getting loaded up on the tow. I told him he shouldn't have messed with the HHR

on a side note, there was a completely beat to **** Acura Integra there that ran a 7.35! I'm telling you, beat to **** and 600HP! the intercooler on this thing would give the Crazy Steve IC an inferiorty complex!

To help redeem my guilt about feeling partly responsible for his cars misfortune, I'm gonna help him swap the shaft out after work. He can change one out in about 20-30 minutes... with my help better make that an hour
