Well didn't hit 13's like planned

Only made 2 passes due to cars (4 delta cars) breaking drivetrain parts.

1st pass was the 1st time racing this car.

2.399 60'
14.3
101 mph

The second pass I improved the 60', but wanted to attempt NLS to 4th before the traps:

2.299 60'
14.3
101 mph

If I had just run out 3rd like the 1st pass, the 2nd should have been more like a 14.1 based on the improved 60'. I'll wait until early fall when the temps cool down and give it another go, I'm almost positive it'll do 13's.

What tire pressure were you running? I know all tires are different, but bringing them down into the mid 20's will get you another 1/10th off the line, but will affect top speed a bit. Yeah your close, I wish I had a 1/4 track close.

Another fun weekend, here are 2 videos, some slips, and some pics.

it was pretty warm out last night mid 80's. I only managed to get 8.93 last night. Again 2.1's for '60.

Here is a couple of vids. Both crappy side shots.

Also, went to a cruise in/show, and placed in the top 50, and the drag bags I ordered arrived.

This weekend marked 70 passes

not the show winner but my favorite. I think this is a Boyd. this one didn't win because it was a trailer queen. I actually went to car show directly from home after drag racing the night before. Threw the Johney Lightning on the dash, all the drag slips on the cowl, it had a nice amount of wheel spin spray... looked driven....hard. maybe that is why I got an award.

Just had to add
I went back and looked at your videos not sure what that first car was almost looks like a notch back 5.0 but it was not.
I was laughing when you ran that 350z I bet you that guy never figured he would be looking at the tailights of your SS that was an awesome video thanks for sharing.
Sounds like your car is not even braking a sweat beatin on those poor other cars lol:twothumbs:

prince_bigd Jul 8, 2012 07:15 AM

The wheels on that first car were vintage Toyota. I can't verify but maybe an early eighties celica supra before they separated the models.

foolmoon_ I really enjoyed the 350Z video. I have just the co-worker to show that to. You're gonna love the upper motor mount. I'm probably going to get the same Airlift bags. (for towing, though) Perhaps I should try to find a track and see if I can even come close to any of your times.
