1st to 2nd 5,400-5,500 2nd to 3rd 5,800-6,000 3rd to 4th 6,000 is best shift points on stock turbo. These rpms are best when you nls.

Why so low from 1st to 2nd?
|
The 1 2 shift is always the quickess and if you ever nls you will hit dead on. Dont know how quick you can shift but try it.

I was NLS those gears as fast as stock shifter would let me with one pop from the exhaust each time. My best run was reg 1-2 shift and NLS 2-3. But unsure of rpms. Really need hpt to analyze my runs.

I have questions for guys who have done traction mods. I am setting up my auto ss hhr, for bracket racing. Now I have the launch set up pretty soft. only doing 2.1XX 60ft times. The HHR has been deadly consistent so far. Now my problem is every now and then, i can get a little bit of wheel spin about 30 ft out or so as the turbo kicks in. And my question was, which mod would help me the most in 30 ft out? Doing the motor mount or the drag bags. Keep in mind I already stiffened the rear springs using spacers. but not that stiff. can drive it on the street just fine. I don't want to change my tires, because i like to be able to drive it in and out. Thanks

How much tourqe are you trying to plant down?

Since you have HPTuners have a look at tq vs rpm vs gear. Ramp your torque in so that it does not quite overrun your tires' ability to bite in each gear. You can also use the tq vs rpm table but since you have an auto, if you have to go too far up that table to limit wheelspin, it will give you uncomfortable torque drops in daily driving as moderate gear shifts drop it below where it ramps to 100%.

Not sure how much torque I am making. But when it dead hooks. on a good track i can pull 2.110. 60 ft times. That should give you an Idea. Most of the time it hooks good at the tracks I race at. But sometimes as conditions change it can cause a little bit of wheel spin 30ft out. Which in bracket racing cannot happen if you want to win. Like this past Saturday night I got a bit of wheel spin causing me to lose .010-.020 off my 60ft time. making me lose around between .018 to .016 of my other runs.

Best bang for your buck is some sticky rubber.
