Ya the stock ones r all black. Next time u go to the track, get all tht extra weight outta there and hope the weather is favorable. Then we can see wut Superchips is really capable of!
This is good news the way I see it. The GMTU is way overpriced for what it offers. Not to mention sensor clearance issues, improper installation issues, and all the other headaches others have had to deal with that were related to the upgrade. The best thing about the GMTU is its GM warranty.

It's at 325 above sea level

I agree with xtremess the gmtu. Is very expensive it is overpriced but it does not void the warranty like an aftermarket tune such as the superchips tune would.
Chevymgr can confirm that in case I am wrong.
I believe the best run on a gmtu in a auto Hhr was a very low 14 maybe high 13 by 2005hhrauto.
(I am sure he will be along to possibly Confirm that)
Either way nice run.
I believe you said your Hhr was a dealer demo vehicle
maybe the dealer put the superchips in so people would test drive the auto then order there's thinking they where going to get approximately 275 HP and 18 psi.
Boy would they be dissapointed when they test drove a modded mid 14 second car and received a mid 15 second car.
Hopefully that was not the case.
I will try and do some number crunching for ya later and see what ya would have run in really good air.
A friend of mine travels a few hours to Cecil
To run his untubbed low 8 second car on small radials.
Cecil from what I have heard is usually a very well prepped track like maple grove.
I am guessing you had little or know wheel spin?
Did you happen to see the low traction
Display come up since you said you left the traction control. on
Congrats on the run by the way

I didnt notice if traction light came on but track was real stick really no spin out next tack im going to is atco nj n I called dealer bout the super chip tune n they said it will not void my aftermarket warranty

foolmoon_design Aug 13, 2012 09:39 AM

The only time I've seen the traction system light up is when nosediving into a corner.... Wtf, I didn't push the brakes, oh tc. Hate it.

I know dealers are accused of doing many things, BUT I doubt the dealer would do this then sell the car with a warranty. First, the warranty is now void. Second, that is fraud which can be a prosecutable issue ( not to mention GM Corporate violations). Many instances of similar occurrences are on the Corvette forum and when the dealer discovered (by default) they made extremely exceptional deals to the buyers.

One deal.....the buyer of a used 2009 (which ultimately was found to be a Bonduraunt training vehicle with much added aftermarket equipment) was told he still had warranty and additionally purchased the GM extended "warranty" was given a new, 2011, for what he paid on the 2009 (the threat of legal activity and notifying the federal authorities of a dealer selling a vehicle of non compliance carried a lot of weight).

Bkm0607 Aug 13, 2012 10:11 AM

Well I got from car sense so not sure if Gm applies here

bigjacksauto Aug 13, 2012 11:46 AM

I would assume the gm 5 year 100k drivetrain warranty is void?
you could check with gm customer service or better yet CHEVYMGR
I did not realize a non gm warranty would not be void as well.
Of course it probably only voids the drivetrain?

May be since you where not aware that the vehicle had been modified when purchased they would still honor the warranty?

Bkm0607 Aug 13, 2012 11:58 AM

I'm going to call the warranty company I have n make sure wat the dealer said is true about the tune
