The hunt for 12's is on!

Well are after some hard work and alot of tuning. The SS fuel trim are setting at 0 so it's time to run it. I order new tires 245/40/18 nitto nt05s they are a softer tire compare to nt555's and alot of cobalt guys have the best of luck with them. I wanted a dr but money ran short so do with the best I can do. I will be installing limit straps and peewee footballs in the rear. So as soon I get the tires and everything I'll hit the track with the Gopro and see what happens I'll still be happy with a 13 so we well see.

Yeah, good luck bud! I'd like to see 12's myself sometime sooner rather than later.

Good luck man! Those are the tires I put on my wifes SS. It spins first gear but still pulls while spinning. Overall they hook great for a street tire! She is on all stock mounts and suspension right now tho. I want 12's with hers too before we go to full e85 and slap a new turbo on it.

Good luck. Just picked up an 08 HHR SS myself, and I still have a bunch of stuff left over from my Cobalt days. Including Hoosier QTP slicks and HPTuners.

Had the Cobalt running mid 12s, and hope to do the same with this mini van.

Limit straps keep the front end from lifting up. The peewee footballs keep the rear from going down. It levels out the car on a lunch so there is no weight tranfer. Here's what the limit straps look like.
