Seeburg 220's 2LT HHR

Name: Mark
Location: Leesburg, VA
Occupation: Air Traffic Controller
Hobbies: cars, guitars, arcade machines

My 2007 2LT is loaded. I think the only option it doesn't have is the spoiler. Features include: leather seats w/ heated front seats, 6-cd changer/XM unit, sunroof, 2LT pkg (2.4L engine, fog lamps, etc), running boards, roof rack, automatic trans, side curtain airbags.

Color: Dark Silver Metallic

miles when bought: 8
current mileage: 520

Why I bought it: I instantly loved the look of the HHR the first time I saw it at the 2006 DC Auto Show. I love old cars and have not at all been impressed with the designs of new cars for a long long time. The HHR immediately hit me as a cool vehicle, kind of like a '68 Camaro still makes my palms sweat.

My kids are only 1-3 years away from learning to drive, and the HHR, with it's 5-star crash rating and ease of driving, only added to my decision that this car was "the one".

Plans for the future:

I really like it stock, the way it is. My only plans for customizing it are to add Chevrolet script emblems on the hood and rear, like others have done. I did add some aftermarket Chevrolet logo floor mats (see pic) and I like the contrast they provide inside the gray interior.

I have a webpage on my Corvette website devoted to the HHR. It's still in the works, but I plan on adding to it in the future...

Good choice, especially for the children to learn and drive.
Welcome. I'm also staying with a mostly stock auto, though I have added some chrome besides the Chevy script (Which I LOVE!).
We can't really make a performance engine out of what we are given, , but we can make it louder and get a few more MPG. I've been there and taken OFF the IMCO muffler and put back the stock "turtle". I still have on the CGS intake, but am contemplating its removal also.

I scrape up the bottom front to much as it is, so I would never lower the car, but some folks do. I bet they drive with more worries than we who stay stock, though they can handle a bit better...........
Chevy got so much right with this car straight out the door

Thanks for the replies and kudos all. As far as the HHR and mods, I agree w/ Harpozep - that Chevy has such a good design, that I'm happy as-is. Sure, if gas were still a dollar a gallon, I'd be screaming for an HHR with a 350 under the hood. But those days are gone, unfortunately. The HHR may not peform like a Lexus or a BMW, but it's got originality that those cars will never have.

Is it just me, or are all of those $30000+ cars just too boring to look at? Sure, they can brag at the track results, but c'mon, when can you really cash-in on that? With a car as cool-looking as the HHR, you cash-in everyday you look out in the driveway and see that thing parked there.

I am surprised I held out as long as I did on buying one, as I've been oogling over them for nearly 2 years. Good things come to those who wait, perhaps... :)
