HHR -v- Unknown Steel Object

Well, here's the unfortunate images of our beloved HHR... Peggy-Sue to those who know her. This happened at Open ****pit at Castle on Sunday May 24, 2009. I didn't hear or feel hitting anything, and I pulled over in the parking lot to run in to the Admin Bldg to drop something off. Coming out, I saw this.

It's the passenger side, front door, side door and just forward of the rear wheel.

Total cost to replace the door pannels, and a complete repaint to match the colour: $3,145.49 plus our deductable of $500.00.

I hope this never happens again... it made me sick to see the damage.

What a bummer!!! Is there anyway that it could have got hit while you were inside? For a bunch of reasons I won't go into, that looks like something hit you, not you hit something. To do that amount of damage you would have definitely felt something.

Hey Karl,

I remember in an earlier post where someone wanted to know how the protective piece was attached to the lower rear door, I guess that answers that question ! Looks like you might have came close to the gate hinge / pothole near the front entrance, that sucks ! Hey but on a lighter note Karl, "Are those Birkenstocks" !

Hope You had a Great Time otherwise,

It's attached with a foam tape.... very strong actually. Yes, they're Birkenstock's.

On another lighter note. Bids are being taken for an autographed, battle-scarred rear fascia plate.

Do I hear $25.00?

Maybe this pipe sticking out of the ground. Looks like there might be a slight rise in the dirt next to it (bump/hump). Did you make a sharp right when leaving the parking spot? Not sure tho...
