I got them replaced and I just used ramps to get to it, Didn't need to take the wheels off to get to it. Just drove the car to denver and developed another knock. Thinking it is the strut mount. Thinking this car is going to be a money pit.

I ordered some greasable bushings from Energy Suspension and they showed up today. My hhr is at the dealership for some exhaust work and I figured that I would see if they could install them since it was already there. SO I stopped by today after work (I dropped it off this morning) to see if it could be done without costing an arm and a leg.

Why are they quoting me for 2 hours of labor? Does that sound right? The rep said that her tech told her that he'd have to drop the cradle. I know you have to drop the cradle to install the bar itself but do you have to for the bushings? I told them thanks but no thanks. I have a friend that can help get the job done. I was just trying to get ahead since my HHR is already in their shop.

I'm guessing, but I don't think the cradle needs to drop for the bushing replacement. A couple of people, have replaced their bushings. I don't believe they had the capacity or the facility to drop the cradle.

If you go strictly by "the book" you have to drop the cradle and charge 2 hours of labor..... but a flat rate mechanic will just bang a knuckle or 2 and get the job done in 20 minutes and get paid for 2 hours. If you jack the car up onto stands and remove the front tires you can see the bushings, 2 bolts each, may be a knuckle buster but with the right adapters should be easy.

How is everything so far with those Energy bushings? I have a set of the black/graphite greaseables I bought and I'm probably going to have my local shop install them (and MOOG end lings) while they're replacing my struts...there's another post on here somehwere that was negative on the Energy graphite bushings, saying a noise recurred after a month or so so he took them off? Anyone have any other feedback on the Energy Suspension Bushings?

I just ordered a pair of OEM bushings (non-greasable) on e-bay for $7.75 free shipping.GM PART#20902784. I do not have any idea why you would want to lubricate this bushing!!! I do not want it to move side to side, just to hold the bar down to the frame.
