Price range on the tool is very wide. You can get a cheap plastic one for less than a dollar or pay $30 for a pro multi tool. I got a cheap one from NAPA.

I don't remember the right size. It is the same as the ATF cooler lines, IIRC.

I wrapped a piece of heavy plastic around the line.. A plastic band. Then zip tied the band, then using a crescent wrench I leveraged into the 4 tabs while pulling up on the line.. Off it came.

 

Which fuel line was that? The one at the fuel rail? By the injectors?

Fuel line to fuel rail connector. With an all stainless snap secure anchor engraved 3/8

 

I guess that would mean "use the 3/8 release tool"

I actually wrapped a piece of heavy plastic around the fuel line and cinched it up to release. IMHO, the tool I fabricated WORKS 100 TIMES better than the store bought tool. I hope you understand.

I agree home made is good. The store bought one I got is basically a piece of plastic wrapped around the pipe. The one I go lasted exactly 2 disconnects.

Oldblues work great, but cost a $20-$30. Handy to have in a shop.
