I just purchased a used tranny from salvage yard it came out same year make and model as mine everything worked except the passenger side drive axle, mine has female splines and the tranny takes male splines why is this any thoughts

 

The passenger side has a short extension that usually sticks to the axle when removed. It is really part of the transmission.

It is a pretty expensive parts, you should try to get it from the junk yard, they may still have the axle shafts.

 

Or use the stub shaft from your old transmission
