Wheel bearing dust cap

Hello All,

I am adding trim rings to my OEM steel wheels and I wanted to know if anyone has added a dust cap to the wheel bearing axle nut like it done in older Chevy.

I want to fill in the rears as well cause I want to clean up the look.

Example in link:

I’ve pondered this for years, I’ve tried several types of caps to fit, but nothing has stayed in place, sorry again to that guy one of my caps blew off and clipped his mirror, scared the bejeepers outta him!
I do know that the plastic cap off of one of the Glade type air fresheners wedges into the 16 inch steelies, but it’s s flimsie plastic and bounces out after a few days.
I had a red set for car shows , had to remove them before heading home. I always thought to have a set made on a lathe to thread onto the front axle to hold them in place and barb the rear to press into rear rims. But that would be a pita if y’all got a flat.
It was the Airwick top
