Question code PO326

I have this code come up on my 2006 , 2.2 litre hhr and my book says it may be a Knock sensor no. 1 circuit range or performance problem [number 1 or single sensor] could someone explain this in laymans terms to me and where this is located and any idea of price to repair. Thank you all for all your information and what you do with these vehicles thank Doug

First off , I recommend checking the connections for the knock sensor per

https://www.obd-codes.com/p0326

There is the electrical connection then just the one bolt , make sure it’s clean and tight

The price of the sensor will vary of course depending on where you buy it - amazon CA has one for $35 + shipping!!! -
Amazon Amazon

It literally is a 5 minute job to change - so it depends on what your mechanic will charge. If you are handy and have tools, it is an easy DIY job in your driveway.

Wrench Monkey is a bit pricey for an off brand

I’d go with the AC Delco from RockAuto don’t forget their discount code!

Where did you see anything about a defective sensor? The code means that it is working. Do you see post #2?

I can delete it if you think it is a waste of time. Yes, that sounds a bit snarky. I spent 20 minutes on post #2.

Can you see post #2?

That answers your original question and has a troubleshooting guide.

If not try using a PC instead of a phone.
