Need info on part orientation

Can someone check their front struts to determine the position of the upper spring mount. There is a small tab that sticks out that you can feel from just above the spring. If someone can tell me if this should point towards the front,
the rear or out the side I would greatly appreciate it. I just replaced the mounts and in a hurry due to weather, I may have put this in the wrong position causing a problem.
Thanks in advance.

Does this help? The strut is laying in the box the tab is up.

Here is the exploded diagram showing how the strut is oriented on the vehicle. With donbrew's pics, looks like the tab above the spring would point to the engine.

Yeah, that's what I was looking for. Both the diagram and the picture have the angle and therefore the tab towards the engine.
I'm having an issue with a creaking noise when turning at a stop or getting on or off the brakes at a stop. I replaced both half shafts an both strut mounts. Passenger side strut bearing was shot. After I put everything together and returned the spring compressor, I head the creaking again and checked both struts. One was pointed toward front of car and the other to the rear. Looks like I will have to pull them again to re position the isolator.
Thanks a lot donbrew and RJ RS. I may save my sanity yet!
