how do you change the little picture thingy next to your name on the left of the screen?

so thats why mine disappeared after I tried to change it once. I had one for awhile and then wanted a different picture so I did and it just never showed up. I just figured it was operater error but I didnt care enough to contiue to figure it out, I guess now I know.

It seems that if you are a premium member and have an avatar, that when your membership expires the avatar stays as long as you don't try and change it. But I'm not the expert on this.

Nope, mine disappeared the day after, and I haven't gotten 'round to renewing.

I think your case might have been part of the "new format" when every could have avatars but effort to save space avatars were dropped from new and current members unless you had a certain join date. That is if you never had a premium membership then disregard.
I am stuck with this avatar unless I get another premium memebership.

There was a change to Avatars being offered only to Premium Members. Older Members that had avatars prior to that change were grandfathered in. So now if you want an avatar you must become a Premium Member. Once you go Premium you will find a place to "Edit Avatar" in your "User CP" found in the orange bar at the top of the screen.

All Members can use a signature bar. You can do this through your "User CP" as well.

I joined jan 07 & put-on an avatar .. Then it disappeared....

So I finally went premium. But still no sign of the decal that is supposed to be part of the deal.

As with anything a cut-off date has to be decided. Apparently you were on the wrong side of the cut-off date.

I have heard nothing since inquiring about this for you. I will try again.
