Bear in mind that videos of illegal activities have been used to prosecute folks, and also as ammunition in trials to show past history. Something that in this day and age of youtube and facebook a lot of folks seem to be totally clueless about. If I were a moderator I would also be concerned that anything I said or did that could be construed as supporting, condoning or allowing a medium for might open me to some potential liability, or at least the requirement to defend against potential liability. The slime comes out of the walls when they think there is profit in it.

Merry Christmas is on the list in my area...confusing for young children that have different religious beliefs. What's next, no arguing a point, no difference of opinion, no correcting of improper info asked by another member. I think somethings should be left alone. Discussions of why GM should get "loan" money" or not is disturbing to me, but I would never try to "BLEEP" anyone from making their comments on the subject. My point is, Sometimes the minority defeats the majority in different ways if given a chance. You know...the squeeky wheel theory.

I like reading the kill stories. They're very entertaining. Nothing more to it than that.

This topic annoys me to no end, and I don't even know where to begin as far as arguing... To keep it short, I voted yes on discussions and videos.

If you google - how stupid do you need to be to post videos of yourself street racing; you get thousands of hits like this "A reckless Vancouver-area street racer has been driving dangerously fast, at speeds up to 241 kilometres an hour, recording himself at the wheel, and posting his exploits on YouTube.

The young man can be heard bragging and swearing about his driving prowess in the videos, which were shot throughout the Lower Mainland. Well-known landmarks like the George Massey Tunnel can be made out.

The videos are now in the hands of the police.

"We're going to follow-up on it," said Cst.. Tim Fanning of the Vancouver Police Department.

"If these people are going to post their exploits on YouTube, If there is any evidence there that can help us lead to pulling their licenses, taking their car away, we're going to do it."

Bad thing is , street racing has been around for a very long time , censoring it won't make it go away..I'm sure there are plenty here when in their younger days participated in one form or other in this. Its no different then before except for the video's.I find it interesting that we humans are so predictable in our habits,,whereas the things we did at a young age we deplore at an older age, just like our parents and their parents and so forth. Its just getting more attention now, thats about the only difference, other then as the population grows its only undersatndable that this grows proportionatly.Sure the cars are faster and handle better but the law has some good tools too. If you want to curb it, quit buying the teenager a fast car before they get out of school, teach em how to drive a slug with precision first.

It seriously isn't that hard to do. PLus what deems as it beiing illegal any way? You don't know where its being filmed it could be on the autobahn or a closed street there are so many different possibilities. I do not promote doing illegal street racing, it is very dangerous for you and others around you, but there are responsible ways of doing it. like I said if you just cant bare to let your eyes read or watch some illegal racing then simply DO NOT CLICK THE THREAD!!!. If you could do this then there would be no debates on it. And if someone goes into the the thread and starts flaming the person about "how street racing is dumb blah blah blah" then they should get an infraction.
Like I said I do not promote street racing and I do not do it, really cuz my car is slow and I have kids with me most of the time. But people are going to continue to do it and its fun to watch, especially when its a HHR smoking a mustang or something you would never think of seeing. ok sorry for the rant I feel better now , with that said I will still come to hhr.net everyday no matter what.
Very well stated!!
