Steering Wheel Audio Controls

Howdy y'all...

My HHR does not currently have steering wheel controls for the audio system. I'd like to add this small but useful feature to my car.

Can someone point me in the right direction for how to accomplish this? Can it simply be added to the factory audio system (CD player with audio input, no satellite) or does it require the premium radio? Can I simply remove the panel on the steering wheel, put the replacement one on and run the cable appropriately?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

We did this mod a few years ago and here's the "easiest" way to go:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMEWAX%3AVRI

We're pretty sure the seller will accept an offer of $70.00! The controlls and harness alone will cost over $50.00 from the dealer! With purchasing the above from ebay you also get a brand new leather steering wheel and the controls already hooked up!

Then all you have to do is plug it in and it works? Or do you have to flash the computer?

All of the HHR owners that we have read about doing this mod have said it was an install and play! No flash required !

you will need a steering wheel puller. you can rent them from local parts store. if you are just installing the switchs and the harness then you dont have to remove the steeing wheel.
