Sub boxes

Has anybody tried sub tubes in their HHR? I am currently using a Pioneer DEHP80MP with the factory amp and sub. I have my own 6 3/4 Rockford Fosgat speakers in the doors. Since I am using a Metra GMOS 4 adapter to retain my OnStar, chimes, and phone I was able to use the extra sub RCA plugs on my head unit to power a Carver 240 amp and a 10 inch sub in a ported Q-Logic box. I plan on switching to the head amp once I run all new speaker lines. Then, if I am not happy, I will go to an external amp for the 4 speakers. Meanwhile, I am getting too much sub-I have the head Eq set at minus 2 for the sub. I would like to get a smaller enclosure to enable easier access to the storage compartment in the back. I figure that a tube could be attached to the back of the seat off of the floor. I was also considering either making the stock location sealed better with a good sub, or even making the back of the hatch door into a sub box.

Any ideas or thoughts?

I've used bazooka tubes before and was impressed, but with the HHR I went with a single 12" in a sealed truck wedge enclosure. The only issue I had with the tubes was with lower frequencies since the sub itself cant produce the sound
