looks like Sweetwater is a little south of marysville off of 75....you could use 72 to cut over to 129....72 is a pretty nice road aswell....my loop usually consisted of 129-28-19-28 to Franklin NC THEN BACK UP THRU ROBBINSVILLE but I am up for a change......
I think I could be anywhere in that area by noon on fri? and that would leave a little time for cruzin around and seeing the area?

We said, the same thing last year as we lived in Knoxville, but your missing out on the fellowship by not hanging and getting a room. We are already prepping for this one. Go pro, check. Racing gas(available on 129) scoobie snacks, check. Three days of fun, check check check.

Was there last Wednesday. I believe Deals Gap might be on the south end of the Dragon (North Carolina side). There is a General Store, a restaurant and a motel but didn't see a bar. Not even sure if I saw any alcohol sales. Maybe the Tree of Shame is the sculpture you're talking about. Not trying to be an azz but figured if someone had never been there they might want to know what to look for and where. Oops my bad, looks like they do sell beer.

That's the sculpture, and the bar is there too, more towards the campground. When we drive, deals gap is the turn around point for us.

You're right to an extent........however, the stars refuse to line up properly to rid me of my responsibilities and cash so I'll just have to make do.
