Talking with her, she would like a brand new HHR. My only problem with buying a new car is the instant depreciation in value. It hurts knowing that a good chunk of change (probably about the size of my paycheck) vanisihes the minute it's driven off the lot. Other than that, I don't mind having a brand new car.

As long as you are going to keep it for awhile then that depreciation shouldn't matter. The upside of buying new is that you know what's happened with your car

So, I just got done reading the thread on the "flooding" of the '06s. Buying new is now a lot more appealing. I don't really want ot deal with all of the hastle. Z-man, the color is golden teal.

Not to mention a used one will cost you almost as much out the door as I new one with rebates. It will also depreciate the minute you take delivery, more so being a second owner with higher miles. It's very hard to get a better deal on a used car that's only a year old. Your better off putting $3000 down and keeping your payments low, Good luck!

a new one could be had at invoice - rebates ($2000 in most areas) you could have a nicely equiped 2lt (+leather airbags sunroof running boards) for under 20k. invoice is about 1,500 less than msrp for the car you are looking at so figure 3,500 off and you have a decent deal.+ dont forget with new you have a full factory warrenty that is worth the cars cost of deperecation
