Don't worry we will take care of all, just let us know when you will be where and when is a good day/night for a g2g. We will take it from there.

I wanted to bring this back up. I'm thinking that friday night, the 23rd would be a good date, we just neeed to decide on a place.

Friday or Saturday afternoon would be better. I can drive there and back home in a day. Having it in the evening would require an overnight stay for almost everyone.

I'm not real familiar with the southern Alabama (except for the part north of the Florida panhandle) and Mississippi area. I'm not certain we have anyone from that area on here. Hope someone else can make a recommendation!

We were just on the Missippi gulf coast last weekend. Unless you are into Casinos I would not recommend going there. Not much other than the casinos has built back since Katrina.

If there's interest, I'd join in on a get together, anywhere from Pensacola to New Orleans. Wadda y'all think?

Terry, are you going to Chattanooga in October? We could plan the event while we're there. I've really busy lately but I could do some research in the next few weeks to find some spots in Southern Mississippi or Southern Alabama. If you want to travel a little further, Pensacola Beach is also beautiful.

Does that sound like a plan?

SB...I have heard that the aircraft exhibit building at the USS Alabama had also taken a hit from Katrina. The battleship and the submarine USS Drum may be alright though.I'll check into it.That is a good idea for a meeting place though.Susie and I like to cruise down to Dauphin Island south of Mobile when we are in the area.May be a good cruise in the afternoon for a seafood dinner.HB  EDIT...Seems that everything is open again. http://www.ussalabama.com/index.php http://www.dauphinisland.org/

Honest Blues, that's a great idea and well worth staying the night! Many of our local TV stations are from Mobile and they always brag about Dauphin Island. I'd love to finally see it!

SandyBeach 09-03-2007 07:44 AM

Guys, I've done some research and there's just not much in either of those two towns. I can't even find a very good park to meet at. I would suggest we meet at Dauphin Island. Here's a website for it http://www.dauphinisland.org/.

What do you think?

karen1953 09-03-2007 07:47 AM

I hope that all will have a good time at this G2G.

terry44030 09-03-2007 11:17 AM

I heard about Dauphin Island, but I never made it there. That could be a good idea.
