Rough roads in Birmingham AL!?!?

I feel for those of you that live in the Birmingham area that have to travel on I65!

I just returned from a vacation pulling a 5th wheel with a boat behind it (double). There were 4 vehicles each pulling a trailer and all 4 of us could not believe how rough I65 through Birmingham was!!
I sheered a bolt on my 5th wheel hitch and one on my boat trailer and one of the other vehicles blew a tire (all very heavy vehicles/trailers)
I take this same route every year, but I don't remember it being that bad. Did you guys have a cold winter, or is it lack of maintenance?

The only other really bad section of road was I65 on the Northbound side just North of Louisville KY for 20 - 30 miles.

I can't tell you how many hubcaps I've thrown on I65 around the I459 intersection esp heading south. That was a few years ago, not in my HHR, before I was able to buy cars that had alloy wheels. But that patch of road is still rough even 13 years later!

When ya get north of Birmingham, the roads are smooth as glass :D. It seems like they are always doing road construction in the Birmingham area
