So what’s the point of you getting on this forum ? You won’t bother to tell us what the problem is with your car. Is it still some big secret 2 years later ?

Words are so hard.
What is the "issue". GM techs don't know anything about 13 year out of production cars. Any OBD2 code reader can read codes; most big box auto parts stores will do that for FREE.
We have heard just about every "issue", give us a try.
But if it requires a Tech2 and you think telling us what is wrong is a breach of security, why not go to a GM shop. A GM mechanic walking down the street won't have one. They don't know how to use their new computer to do what the Tech2 did.

Or, are you asking how to unpark the car?

A retired GM Tech has my HHR at his Home Shop now.

A friend of mine referred me to someone who he has known for years that is a retired GM Technician .
I called him up and spoke to him about the issues with my 2009 HHR Panel Wagon and he was very familiar with the issues that I mentioned .
He said that he remembered very well HHRs coming through the GM Dealership Shop where he worked and he told me to get it over to his shop at his house and he will diagnose the issues next week once he gets the ger off of the lift that he is currently working on .

I will update once I know more .

I have an OBD Reader and attempted to diagnose and repair it myself .
The issue is every time I would change some parts that the codes on my reader and the reader at Auto Zone would say the codes new codes would pop up.
Clearing the codes would not help as the codes would change to other codes.

Also the gauges would intermittently become erratic and jump all around throwing different codes and alerts.

I dropped it off at a retired GM Mechanic's home shop on Friday and he said that he will get it into his shop that he has behind his home on Monday to start diagnosing the issues .

He says that he owns the old GM Tech 2 computer as well as another system that was used at the GM Dealerships when he worked there .

Let's see what he comes up with .

I am in Tampa . Where are you at ?

No it is not a secret.
I was just frustrated with the car and let it sit.

The issue was very tough to explain as the codes continued to change, the gauges continued to be intermittently erratic .

I would read codes, change parts , clear codes and new codes would pop up.
I would clear those codes and take it to Auto Zone and read the codes with their reader and still the codes would change to new codes and many of them at that .

The car would start and run sounding really good as well as trans drive and shift well only to have it stop running minutes later not wanting to start back up . I would have to let it sit a while and try cranking it until it would start again . It would then seem to run fine to only minutes later do the same thing over again .

I had been told that it may be the BCM and it would have to he programmed at a dealership to the cars VIN and Miles .

The local GM Dealerships were telling me like $175.00 per hr , 2 hr minimum to diagnose it plus whatever repair costs there would be .

That made me not take it to the dealerships as I could imagine they would rack up costs and a high estimate then try talking me into trading it in for a new car instead of paying their shops bill and costs.
