Southeast Regional?

What about it? Would there be enough interest to do a SE regional event? Any ideas as to a location, time. etc.?

Airborne_Beachbum 04-27-2006 08:54 AM

I'm up for it. I couldn't make it unless it was towards the end of August. I'll be in school throught the entire Summer and won't be able to take time off.

galladanb 04-27-2006 09:22 AM

I'm in!!! Just let me know when and where!

Are you also interested in the Nationals CJ is trying
to put together for next Aug. in Estes Park, CO?

Do any of you know of a car show in Louisville, KY?
I think it is a huge one??????

galladanb 04-27-2006 09:25 AM

How about Dollywood or the Biltmore???

I think a photo op with a ton of HHR's in front of
the Biltmore would sooooooo cool!!! I'm sure we could
get permission to get the cars up on the front drive if
we had a group of 'em... ;)

The Biltmore is a cool place. We usually go there every year or so anyway. We might give that area some thought if that is OK with everyone.

Airborne_Beachbum 04-28-2006 10:37 AM

The Biltmore works for me. Don't know about the nations thought, by then I might be in Hawaii. Or, I might be in Colorado Springs so, then it would be a definite go.

It would be nice to have a Southeast Region meet. I am all for it, but the location is another thing. Somewhere in the north Georgia mountains or Carolinas. Maybe Myrtle Beach. Chattanooga Tenn. maybe or even Stone Mountain.

Skatetheglobe 04-29-2006 02:27 PM

I think a pic of a bunch of HHRs on Daytona Beach would be rad..

Daytona Beach is one of my least favorite beaches of all. The picture would be cool, but I don't want the sand and salt on my HHR.

How about a photo opp with this in the background?

Is that the Biltmore House? Never been and always wanted to go.

galladanb 05-01-2006 02:55 PM

Yep, That's it. ;)

We spent a ton of money and stayed all day, but DID NOT see it all.
There is a bunch of house there with a lot of rooms.

We took a rooftop tour that was very special...:thumb:

The front lawn has a very very long driveway (ABOUT 300 Yards LONG)
and a lot of space in front where we could park the R's.

I am sure we would have to get "Special Permission" in advance
in order to let us have the cars in there. I would be happy to look
into it if there is enuf interest for a group day there...:thumb:

Im In For Biltmore!

Holmes Hot Ride 05-01-2006 03:41 PM

I'd go for it also. Biltmore would be good. Now set it up,! Just kidding.

CheckSando 05-01-2006 03:43 PM

Well there you have it....

Start a Biltmore Estate Meet thread so ideas can start flying!

Woot!

Clarke33 05-01-2006 04:15 PM

I used to be a season ticket holder and they sometimes cut a better deal to groups. We could check into the cost of staying on grounds at the hotel. The winery is a nice part of the estate also.

galladanb 05-02-2006 10:12 AM

How cool!

I can look into this, but I will need some basic info such as:

1.) How many? Under 10, over 10, but under 25, over 25?
2.) When? I suggest Aug or later, but the first weeks in OCT are a huge money drain due to the fall color changes in the area...
3.) Money caps? I think the hotel may be a little too pricey for some, me included. But other accom can be found, I'm sure...
4.) Group tours? Thye have many packages, with a huge variety...

I will look into the above topics and get back ballpark figures to y'all...:thumb:

CheckSando 05-02-2006 10:40 AM

you should probably start a fresh thread for the meet to make things clearer.
