I've been disappointed with the Cracker Barrel's chicken n dumplings. The last couple of times I've had it, it was all dumplings and no chicken. It tasts ok, but if all I want to eat is flour, I pass.

Have the same deal here, well at least at the Concord, NC store. Its more like dumplings 'n we dunked a chicken in the pot. Other than that we still like it.

I had chicken and dumplings at the Cracker Barrell in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., a few years ago and they were great. I have been wait to go to the one in St. George for a few years, since we moved to Vegas, so I hope I am not disapointed, but if I am it won't be the first and surly not the last. Thank you for the info.

See ya down the road

Tried CB for the first time in Shelbyville, KY a few months back -- had chicken pot pie and it was very yummy! Going to be in Whitesville, KY for Christmas, perhaps a 2nd trip is in order ...

And I'm with Kev -- glad they aren't around here! :)

Drive safe, Bud and enjoy!

@ngelita ...

Well today is the day to go to St.George and have a plate full of C&D, carrots, green beans, okra, biscuits and for dessert Pecan pie. I informed the waiter about all the negative I had heard and he reassured me that I would be happy with the meal. AND HE WAS RIGHT, IT WAS GREAT. A long drive for something to eat but worth it. It was the first time I had been through Virgin River Gorge and it was a whole lot of DOWN & a whole lot of UP, very pretty even though it was over cast. I am sorry that we could not meet up with some other HHR'S but maybe next time. Thank you for those that posted.

See Ya down the road

Cracker Barrell is ok, I usually get breakfast, but for me being from the south, it is hard to beat my Mom's homemade, chicken and dumplings, along with a big ol pot of pinto beans, and fried corn.

I cook there on the weekends...those dumplins are rolled by hand every day from scratch! If you want more chikin and less dumplins, just ask. They'll give it to you :)
