Question Chevy optional "Spotter Mirror" for HHR

Does anybody know what this is all about? I understand that in the panel and the solid rear quarter panel versions, there is talk of rear visibility problems. Is this a good solution? What's it look like and how does it mount. I'm only wondering since a rear viewing camera is still not an option. I'm still a wanna be owner , waiting to order my 2009 'SS' with solid rear quarter panel. I've even picked a name already, The Smurfinator. Oh yeah, I was going to go with the Aqua Blue Metallic exterior paint. It's a shame the '09's may be the last model year for the HHR. So you might say it could be an instant 'Classic'.

Not sure what the GM one looks like, but when I had vans and now a panel a spot mirror helps a whole lot on lane changes, parking and pulling away from curbs. It's just a convex mirror, but it helps.

I like the extra little convex mirrors on any car. They are a huge help in spotting people in your blind spot. I'm assuming it will be something similar to this.

I have the small convex mirrors that are adjustable, the work great.
See ya down the road

If you are talking about the AA5 option, or the quarter panel. There is no need for any extra mirrors, no blind spot at all, or I should say that there is no more blind spot than the six window HHR. Todd (Uma)

The news is that the production plant in Mexico will be closed down in 2010.

Toluca , Mexico is a truck/SUV plant. It is not the same plant that assembles the HHR
