They shut down the old Irwindale Raceway for a brewery in the late 70s. I spent a lot of time at the old one; never been to the 'new' one. Wasn't that one called the Toyota Speedway or something like that?

It was once sponsored by Toyota. It has been open since 1999 and has a 1/2 mile oval (season opened last Saturday) and an 1/8 mile drag strip that is open every Thursday at 4:PM to 10:PM.

If you make it out I work on the drag strip in the tower. Stop by and say hi. We have had a few HHR's out there.
