NorCal Run-Monterey 8/26

Well it's on. The votes were for Monterey, so American Grafitti will be in the cooler season. Good idea!
Saturday, August 26th!!!:D
We have some ideas for everyone!

10-10:30am-Those from the valley can meet at Santa Nella at the 5 & 33. There are gas stations and (Split Pea Andersons) food there. We can meet at the world famous "Taco Bell." Let's meet at 10AM and leave at 10:30am to go over the hill on the 152 (San Luis Reservoir) to Monterey. It's about 1 1/2 hrs away.

12:30PM-We could all meet (the valley and coastal area 'runners') at the Point Pinos Lighthouse for a quick tour and some photos! Big parking area with Lighthouse in background. Tour is $2. http://www.pgmuseum.org/Lighthouse.htm
We'll bring some light sandwiches, chips and drinks for everyone for a light lunch.

2pm- We'll begin the 17mi Scenic Drive. Beautiful areas and lots of photo op's! A walk on the beach is possible, also. Ah, romance!

4pm- or there's about- A stop at a great view of the ocean and a sip of wine. I'm checking on this to see if it is free. There are several tasting rooms in the area, so we'll get one planned. http://www.tastemonterey.com/tastingroom.html

5pm- The finale! Bubba Gump's for an early dinner. :thumb:
http://www.bubbagump.com/ Look at locations and click Monterey!
Menus is available on their website, also. My wife and I usually share either the "Bucket of Boat Trash" or the "Shrimpin' Dippin' Broth." Then we have room for dessert!

Then we'll all head to our own homes or... I'd say we'll be all finished by 7pm.

A special gift will be sent to all who attend. A free DVD of the Run!

Tell me what you think!
p.s. I'll PM all who say they're going and send you my Cell number in case you are running late to the meet up places. PLEASE state at which meeting place you plan to meet when leaving a message on this Thread. Either Santa Nella or Point Pinos Lighthouse. Thanks!

Sounds like a lot of fun. If you see Clint tell him hi for me. Sorry I can't make it, I'll be in Bristol, Tenn., for the night race. I'll see ya all at the next get together.
