Rock auto lists them available, the last GM timing chain I bought had Cloyes stamped on it.

The VVT solenoid valves control the flow of oil to the phasers, That flow causes the phasers to adjust. The feedback comes from the cam position sensors.

Yes, but GM has figured out that there are quality issues with some these parts. Pretty sure the tensioner you get in the GM cam chain kit is not Cloyes (unless it’s old stock,) and I think that’s important. On the cam side, important to get the GM tensioner and the ZZP front guide. How you skin that cat doesn’t much matter. Just my opinion.

I don't understand what you mean by "same as."

Are you saying that from Cloyes, you got a GM packaged, GM labeled tensioner with the GM part number on it? Definately not what I got.

No, I am asking you to identify the GM part number is that it in the photo, we should have the correct part posted if we are recommending a specific part.

I’m still confused.

Thanks for posting the part number you asked for?

Don’t mention a specific part without stating the actual part number? (Which is easily found.)

Just trying to help.

I’m asking you if that’s the GM part number , you posted about, you didn’t include a part number in post #13

Thank you for the clarification. (Sorry to be so slow.)

Yes, that’s it! GM 12608580 is the camshaft timing tensioner that I think is trustworthy. I would prefer to make sure it’s not old stock if possible. Mine was from Amazon only because it was slightly cheaper shipped than Rock Auto, but I think either source does enough turns that I’m unlikely to get old stock with that part.
