Another Problem..
So, after having my second clutch position sensor replaced two saturdays ago, had a few little problems.
One, the one that just happened today, TPMS needs servicing.. It last week was saying front left tire had 31 psi, when it really had 38, much like all the other tires. I kinda ignored it, cause I thought it was just messed up and would read right. Reprogrammed the tires, and it was good, til today. Two, The left side windows dont always work with the switches. Sometimes, they wont go down, and sometimes wont go back up. Its not like everytime, its very.. intermittent. Im going to dealership tomorrow, but anyone have any ideas? On a side note, my bro has the N/A ss cobalt, and he seemed to have alot of problems, nothing like mine, but was electrical, maybe we have the same problems, just not as bad? |
Well you've got a four year old HHR, and the little batteries in the TPMS sensors are supposed to last about five years, but yours might be getting tired and giving you wonky readings.
On the window deal, it sounds like you've got a bad switch assembly, luckily they aren't that expensive or labor intensive to replace. |
Maybe it needs a lobotomy. Oh wait....sorry....that's Mike's idea.
(inside joke: sorry Mike, but I couldn't resist):D |
No problem George, although it does sound really weird, HHR's do respond to the occasional "lobotomy". Their little electronic brains do get scrambled every once and again.

its funny. they aired up the tires, and the VERY next day my left rear said 21 PSI.. but it had 34. gah and the tpms sensors were replaced in feb, when I bought it. It was part of the buying part, I wanted new tires and TPMS, and they went ahead and did it.

Sometimes the TPMS modules are just bad... I had 3 replaced before my car got hit 15K miles. The replacements have been trouble-free since then (48K now).

Mine got to be so erratic in what they would read, or when one or more wouldn't report I opted out with the shiny stickies. Not sure about the windows, but if your switches are in the door it's a 5 minute R&R, with 3 minutes spent looking for the screwdriver.
