Another stupid tpms question

Hi everyone.
I just bought a used set of aluminum cobalt ss rims for ginger without sensors. What sensors do i need. Part# 25920615? Aluminum stems or rubber stems. Are the sensors interchanable between stems? can rubber stems be used on aluminum rims? Are aftermarket sensors an option? I really appreciate being able to check tire pressures on the dash not to mention the fact that without sensors, the idiot light stays on. Thanks

Short answer is: take the old sending units out of your old rims, get new compatible stems for your wheels I think that a 2008 will use the rubber stems, but check with the wheel mfg.. then re-use your old sending units.

The senders are attached to the stems with an Allen head screw on the in side of the rim, they are not integral to the stem. The only difference in stems is having the female screw thread, and that it fits in the hole in the rim. Rubber Stems should be less than $3 each.

That turned out to be a long answer.

The steelies have my winter skins on them, so the sensors stay. I guess what my question is, do the aluminum rims accept the same sensor with the rubber stems? Theses are the same rims that come on the LT models.

My 08 2LT has the rubber stems on its sensors, I would say yes..

i would throw the tpms away. my dealer never gets them back on the right wheel.
