The brake pedal that low after just doing the brakes, sounds like they need a proper bleeding.
Or the master cylinder rear seal sprung a leak after so much travel.
The booster boosts the vacuum to assist in pedal pressure
I don't know how many other GM derivatives have this brake system

Almost every car in America has the same "system". Part numbers may be different.
Any mechanic should be able to diagnose a brake system. If they failed the first time you need a new mechanic.
Don't attempt the job yourself unless you have at least seen it done before. It can be a bit complicated. You have to remove the fuse box to access the master cylinder. The new master cylinder needs to be bled on the bench. Other than that its just turning wrenches.

843de and Oldblue I am going to have the system bled again, makes sense. I am hoping it ends this whole ordeal. Nothing more frustrating then bringing the car to the shop and not having it come back right. One last thing, I am noticing a noise from the master cylinder when I pump it, but hopefully its due to air or moisture in the system. Also, I am going to bring the car to another mechanic, that is never fun either once they see the new calibers. Thanks so much for your input because I am really besides myself on this!

The brakes were bled a second time but did not help. Thankfully when the master cylinder was replaced the issue was fixed! Thanks to everyone and their input! What had me concerned is that I read a posting in a forum where the dealer had replaced the master cylinder and the problem was still there. Also, when I first started looking at the car I did a fair amount of research and I know earlier on there were some problems with the vacuum boost. Thanks again everyone!
