CEL after ZZP Intake Install
CEL after ZZP Intake Install
I installed the ZZP intake yesterday. Initially, I didn't have any issues. However, now, I am getting a CEL and sporadic boost issues (or lack thereof). I stopped by Advance and had them scan it, something to do with the MAF.
In doing some reading on the board, I see where some people are having issues with the oil on the K&N causing problems with the MAF. Does anyone know is a dry filter like one from AEM will fit on and replace the K&N? I'm not tuned yet, but I don't this is an issue that tuning will resolve.
Any thoughts?

first i would remove the maf and if it is contaminated with k&n oil you will see it and know that is the issue. if not then contact zzp as this is something that should have been worked out before the release of the intake
Yeah, I am planning on pulling it out tomorrow after work. If that is the case, I'll give ZZP a call on Tuesday.
As far as I can tell, I am the first one to get it installed that hasn't been tuned. However, I don't know that I tune would remedy this issue. I guess that makes me the guinea pig here...

I know on the cobalt SS/TC's they have to turn the K&N filter upside down or something so it dosn't throw a code. My buddy did it and Ive seen threads about it on css.net. I hope thats the problem, i was planning on getting one and dont plan till get tuned till i get everything or i wont put it on till i get tuned

you have to "clock" the filter...the seam needs to be "clocked" at xxxx o'clock to minimize fuel trim differences
i didn't realize you are not tuned. with our cars...you need a tune for everything since it's a maf car. every change in air flow effects the way the ecu reacts
