Clip on air box

Hello, I had to remove the air box on the ss, to change the camshaft sensors and spark plugs(while I was in there).
Now I can't get the clips back on the front mounting brackets, any one know how or what tool I need?

I'm guessing that the airbox(and grommets) are not pushed on far enough. If they are on properly, the clips should be easy to install. More difficult to remove than they are to install.

But it's been over 2 years without clips for mine, with no issues. My , they are not needed.

You had no trouble with the rear clip?

No clip on back

Hello, no clip on back post, and I did try pressing down on the box to ease installation.
I did try pulling up to see if unit may come loose during driving and it seems pretty secure, just wanted to put all parts back as started for peace of mind.

New grommets too

PS, installed new grommets too, which could explain difficulty. Not pre squished😁

Just asking

While re reading your reply, if they go on so easily, why did you leave yours off?

Initially, because the grommets were shot, and I knew I'd be removing the airbox several times. Didn't want to mess with them anymore. I came up with another way to retain the airbox.

Once I got my project complete and dialed in, I bought new grommets and installed them, without the clips. That's been over a year now.
