Unhappy What Now GM?

...and as expected I received my reply from driveoemautoparts.com this morning: "The part ordered is no longer available and your order will be cancelled."

What Now GM? Is this an error in the system? Are the parts really not available? Is there an identical part listed under another vehicle? Did GM discontinue this spring kit (#25867553) in favor of the 'weaker-springed' part? Someone must know... right? Does Chevy Customer Service still monitor our forum?

I've got a couple more dealers in Jacksonville to try and then I'll be reaching out of state, probably to 87ninefieone's suggestion of Terry Labonte Chevrolet in Greensboro, NC.

Just a thought, but have you also tried looking for spring kits for the cobalt SS and ion redline? I also wonder if a spring kit from a Pontiac solstice or Saturn sky might work even if its a different part number.

CCS can't do much. You could try sending them a PM. Public appeals for them to contact you is futile.

TUNK!

My clutch spring broke a month or two ago, was worried after I read these posts! But it's March of 2017 now, so: my go-to parts place gmpartsdirect.com sent me the kit #25867553 (as mentioned above) with no noticeable delay, for $13.65 plus shipping.

Took 10 minutes, includes 3 little plastic bushings.

Have a look at your clutch pedal arm before you put it all back together.

Oh I see you're already done.

Thanks, RJ! -- yes, I had read your thread before even ordering these parts, so I studied that arm closely. It still had an intact bushing (U-shaped) so the arm appeared completely unscathed. Thanks for the heads-up (again).

To the Top on a tip that may help others with this issue since these SS's are getting some miles on them. Spring kit 25867533 for the MU3 5 speed SS transmission is currently available and the fix for most clutch pedal not returning to full up position.
