Do I need a new hub bearing?

Hey everyone, I replaced the hub bearing a month ago in my 09 ss and recently decided to work on some other things which required the hub off again. Well I had grease in my hands and it slipped and I caught by the speed sensor wire and now my traction and abs lights are on, do I need a new hub or is there a way to fix the wire otherwise.

You probably damaged the wire, I suggest to replace the hub.

Hey, I think too - the wire is damaged.
Or even simpler - the grease got into the wrong place and now interferes with the reader.
But is it worth changing the hub for this?
The hub is expensive and the wire repair is free. Anyone can twist the two ends of the wire right on the spot, and then insulate the twist with an improvised material (electrical tape, heat shrink tubing, or even clerical tape).
By the way, the new ABS sensor is lying around in my garage. If the LT 2.4 2006 hub is identical to your SS - I will give it to you.

Appreciate the offer kind sir, the wires seem to be permanently installed into the hub,. Not sure if the Lt is like that too. If you could walk me through it I'm not against doing a little custom electrical. Starting to think the guy who gave me his car hated me haha.

Oldblue do you have a hub recommendation for me?

The LS / LT hubs are different from the SS hubs .

I just installed a pair of PowerStop hubs, I purchased from RockAuto

Yes, the wires are built into the hubs. But, there is a connector that has another wire going to the EBCM. The connector is fastened to the strut in the front, that is a usual failure point.

If you pulled and stretched the wire from the ring on the hub, then that potentially could be an internal break in the wire and you would not have enough room to repair it

As we see here the wire goes into the ring on the hub inside of the rubber on the left

Another angle to view the ABS part of the hub. These 2 photos are of LS/LT hubs .

Well, yes. If the cost of a new hub does not bother you, you just need to replace the hub.
If the replacement is problematic, you are forced to make extraordinary decisions.
On the net, I found a guy who restored the ABS wire on the Opel Astra. (There are probably no Opel in the USA, but this is also GM, and Astra is pretty close to ННR). He writes that he simply removed the hub, dismantled the ABS sensor, found the break in the insulation (the wire simply rotted from moisture at the break), and then cleaned the problem area from rust and insulation, soldered the missing piece of copper wire and isolated the repaired place. Everything is clear from the pictures.
Here's a link: https://www.drive2.ru/l/479610821400330370/

just before removing the ABS sensor - mark the normal position with a marker.
After repair, the sensor must be returned to the same place.
To remove it, you need a vise and something to pick it up (I used an ax). To return to the place ... in short, you need to press it in. Perhaps using a wooden mallet will work too. I did not put my sensor back in, my car is without ABS.

I don't know who Paul Bunyan is. He's probably a cool dude. But I am a modest person, embarrassed.
not worth gratitude, contact ..
