Does this head gasket look like it was leaking near no 1?

Day 3 got head off. I had to take so much off oh well learned alot.

Does the head gasket look like it was leaking at no 1 water jacket? Kind of looks like some build up.

Also number 4 looks like it has some burnt oil at edge. Valve looked ok. Any ideas what else could leak in that area?

Next the fun part...i have a new complete head, cloyes timing kits (2), new delco water pump radiator and fan, fuel rail with injectors, many sensors and starter.

It had 165k on it from previous owner. Figured since i have it down to short block might as well replace as much as i could afford.

As always thanks for help..

Looks like a coolant leak. Clean up the block surface and check it with a straight edge, hopefully it was the head with a surface problem.

As Blue has said and I agree. Head gasket looks to be the problem.
Clean, clean, clean. Check for flatness. If good, install new head gasket with new head bolts.

Hello im putting the head back on and would like to know if anyone has a torque sequence for it. I cant find it online.

Also what is the part number for very long radiator hose that attaches to lower part of radiator drivers side?

Thanks!!
